Riley and Zane are modeled after my own children. Riley is my daughter’s middle name and Zane is my son’s middle name. They are somewhat close to the ages of their counterparts in this comic.
I miss tuning into stuff like this. As a kid all I had horror-host-wise was Grandpa Munster on Saturday afternoons (I think it was TBS back in the 80s). I also really miss Joe Bob Briggs late night movie show on the weekends in the 90s…
There were several shows (not with horror themes) like “Dinner and a Movie” on TBS for a while… that got done in 2011. There was even a home-improvement themed one for a bit, where they’d watch a film and fix stuff in an old house during commercial breaks… All within the last 6-7 years I think. The only horror hosts I was ever familiar with as a kid was Peter Vincent, Elvira, and that guy in Gremlin’s 2. It wasn’t until Highschool that I caught a couple of Briggs’s shows.
I did catch one or two of the TBS Dinner and a Movie, those were pretty neat. Never heard of the home-improvement show though, that’s pretty interesting; kinda like Ask This Old House with a movie.

I agree! I’m really suprised there isn’t something like this on TV now, especially with all the different cable channels.
