Scary Gary is a homage to the real life Horror Host Sammy Terry and his pet spider. The coloring of Scary Gary is just like Sammy Terry. I have fond memories of watching him on TV every now and then. I usually only saw bits and pieces and the beginnings of the movies. He was actually on Saturday nights (I think…) but in this comic he is on Friday night for the sake of storytelling.
The only movie I actually remember watching on the Sammy Terry show was Race with the Devil and that movie was scary! I rewatched it several years ago and it is still scary.
