That is pretty much how our backyard looked. My Dad had a metal shed close to the edge of the woods. One time we were practising archery and trying to shoot the arrows in the open shed but I missed and put a hole in the door.
There was a creek in the woods behind our house but it wasn’t very wide and I don’t remember there ever being much water in it.
This is one of my favorite pages as far as writing goes. I like how the movie description Riley’s giving is forshadowing the upcoming adventure, somewhat. I’m not so good at the writing part (I like the making pictures part) so I was proud of myself when I did this page.
Cool, and I like the overlap of the movie with the visuals from outside as well!
I love the vibes I’m getting from this already. If it were a movie what would be the rating? Like a PG? PG13? G?
I’m thinking of having my daughter read along. If it’s in the same vein as Goonies or Monster Squad, that’d be perfect.
Also, are you going to try to do a print run on this? Something we can hold in our hands?
Awesome! I’m an thrilled to hear that! It would be a G for sure. I wrote it for kids (and kids at heart) but some of the references are for kids of the 80′s, for sure. If she reads it I’d love to know what she thinks about it!!! I plan to offer a print run as well, I just need to set it up for the printer, hopefully soon.
Wooohoooooo!!!!! Just bumped into this, Chris!
Very excited about it. GO CHRIS GO!
Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it (even though it took forever) and I can’t wait to share the comic and my behind the scenes thoughts as well!
